Tune In to Mental Health Month and help create a world we can all Tune In To .
This free women s bush walk, yoga and wellness event is organised as part of mental health month. The theme for this year s mental health month is TUNE IN . Tuning In means being present, being aware of what s happening within you and in the world around you. Tune In to your senses and take a moment to help still and focus your mind, as well as build positive connections.
Known for their benefits to fitness as well as overall mental wellbeing, hiking and yoga are useful tools for managing emotional stress, anxiety and low moods.
This event aims to give women an opportunity to tune into their wellbeing and connect with other like minded women while getting out into nature.
Join Women Want Adventure CEO Monique Farmer with a Qualified Yoga Teacher and Mental Health Worker, Arna Rathgen for this great event.
This is a women s only event, suitable for women who have experienced trauma or mental distress, or any woman who would benefit from these activities. Due to the nature of the activities, it is requested that children do not attend.
We also strongly suggest taking a moment to think before you register. Some women may not be able to attend a regular paid trip or event, and we are hopeful those who register are wome who would benefit from this event to unwind, talk and connect with others.
Heading from the beautiful Woronora River in the Sutherland Shire we walk in the Natture Reserve on an easy fire trail loop, making our way around the river and valley.
A chance to relax, connect and talk with other like-minded women and support eachother. The facilitators will talk on how to support good mental wellbeing. After the hike we will come back to the Woronora Hall to try some gentle hatha-style Trauma Informed Yoga, finishing up with some yummy refreshments by the water.
A basic level of fitness is required for this 1 hour walk. You can wear normal joggers and will only need to carry water and personal items.
* If you require a yoga mat we have a few available for use
Yes - women turn up individually!
