ITINERARY:

DAY 1:

On arrival at the Base House in Kangaroo Valley you will be met by your guide and provided with waterproof barrels/dry bags for your gear. After a quick sorting of equipment, you will be transferred 20 minutes via shuttle to the start of the paddle location. Your car will be left in a safe and secure location.

We begin the day with a skills and safety briefing, before jumping in the canoes to paddle up river, passing abundant landscapes. We stop for a delicious morning tea on the banks before canning around river bends for 2 hours. As you paddle, the landscape narrows in and the gorge towers above. It feels like you re miles from anywhere any you are!

We take it slow before reaching camp by the sandy banks at the river edge. Go for a swim, sit by the fire and relax!

Meals: Large hearty and healthy morning tea, afternoon tea at camp, dinner, dessert + all tea and coffee

DAY 2:

After breakfast and perhaps a morning swim, we make our way back down the imposing gorge, beneath craggy caves and overhangs where we will see varied birdlife and regrowth after the recent bushfires. We may also hear the shrill sounds of the eagles that live in the caves above.

We enjoy the opportunity to have a delicious morning tea to celebrate our river adventure before meeting the shuttle at 1.00pm for the return back to Kangaroo Valley. Expect to be back at your car between 1.30-2pm on Sunday.

Meals: Breakfast, large hearth morning tea + snacks and fruit, tea and coffee

WHAT TO WEAR?

Wear what you feel most comfortable in. Tights or shorts. Quick dry pants are usually best with a long sleeve top to protect yourself from the sun. Wearing a t-shirt underneath is a good idea in case you get hot when paddling. On your feet you can wear water sandals or sand shoes to keep your feet warm. They will get a little wet. Thongs are not as suitable for around camp and they are easier to trip in or stab your toes.

HOW TO DO I NEED TO BE?

If you feel comfortable to exercise, gently for 3 hours, this trip is suitable for you. On some trips, the wind can pick up, which will require you to dig deep and paddle! We suggest you feel comfortable to move your body and sit down on a canoe seat for periods between 1-2 hours. We paddle at a leisurely pace.

Please email us at womenwantadventure@outlook.com if you have any questions.

We can't wait to meet all the Mothers and daughters on this special Women Want Adventure trip.
