This free Women Want Adventure meet up is here to help you spend more time outdoors with like-minded women. It s often hard to find time to connect with friends, nature and split attention between work, kids, piles of laundry and Zoom meetings.
Fortunately, there s a solution! Spend the morning with us as you walk the National Arboretum - Explorer Track.
The Explorer Track is a meandering dirt path that winds through the southern forests of the National Arboretum. Departing from the Village Centre (Visitors Centre) and looping back, there is lots of downhill and flat sections to begin with, and gentle incline towards the end.
The Arboretum is a mosaic of living forests and gardens. It shows off some of the best views in Canberra, is home to 44,000 rare and endangered trees and has more than 20km of trails the Explorer Track is the longest and one of the most popular. An iconic Canberra trail! A lot of the walk is exposed, so be sure to bring a hat and windbreaker.
Street address: National Arboretum Canberra, Forest Drive (off Tuggeranong Parkway) Molonglo Valley ACT.
Parking: there is ample paid parking available at the Village Centre ($2.10 per hour).
Meeting point: We will meet by the main entry gate to the Pod Playground. To find the meeting point enter the Visitors Centre via the main front entrance, walk past the caf and turn left immediately to exit out the sliding doors where you will see a gate on your left which leads into the playground. There is a sign above the gate that says Pod Playground and you will also notice some giant banksias in the sandpit to signify that you re in the right spot.
This meet up is hosted by our friendly volunteers in ACT. As much as we love greeting you with hugs - please keep 1.5m apart for your and the groups safety due to Covid-19.
We look forward to welcoming you on this hike soon. Please email us at womenwantadventure@outlook.com if you have any questions.
Kind Regards,
Team WWA
