Women's Bendalong Camping Weekend 23rd-25th February

Only 2 hours South of Sydney you will find one of Australia s best camping locations right on the beach. Bendalong boarders the Conjola National Park and has some of the finest beaches on the South Coast.

Our Women s Adventure Community are heading to Bendalong to enjoy a relaxing yet adventurous summer weekend. Think camping, beach walks, surfing, snorkelling, reading your book, bike riding or simply laying in the hammock all day. It s a weekend for you to have a number of options to get away and connect with like-minded women who enjoy the outdoors.

There are numerous walks around Bendalong to Flat Rock Beach and Dee Beach. There are also a number of fire trails to bring your mountain bike.

No matter the wind direction or weather, Bendalong has something on offer. There is Sting Ray Bay where we will be feeding the rays and going snorkelling. There is also the option to bring your own kayak or stand up paddle board for a great day on the crystal waters. The adventures are endless!

Women Want Adventure is providing the options for you to choose what works best activitiy wise, over the weekend. Join a morning walk, go for a swim in the bay, surf or ride your bike. It s a create your own weekend style.

On the Saturday night we will enjoy a healthy BBQ dinner, card games, a nice glass of wine and of course lots of laughs down on the beach with a fire.

This weekend will be very relaxed, but still action packed. If you want to read your book and lay in the sun, go for it! There will be an itinerary for you to jump on board when we head to Lake Conjola to float down the river on lilos or to come walking with us. The aim of the weekend is to provide an opportunity to connect with ladies in our community, try a new activity, go camping and have fun.

Your Leaders will show you hidden rock pools, take you into the Bendalong Cave or challenge you for some ocean swimming and games on the beach.

The best thing about Bendalong for a beach weekend is you can always find a beach with surf or without wind depending upon what you want as you have beaches facing North, East and South.


Accommodation will be non-powered sites in the Bendalong Holiday Park. We are camping in the bush, however have hot showers, toilets, cleaning facilities, cooking facilities and even a fridge. There is everything to ease you into camping if this is your first time.

Duration: 2 nights

Arrival Time: Please arrive between 5pm - 9pm on Friday night. See front reception at the Bendalong Holiday Park to receive your boom gate number to bring your car inside the park. We are camping at the very end of the caravan park under the trees. You will get directions closer to the date and see the Women Want Adventure signs to show you where to put your tent. We can help you set it up.

Cost: $320pp

Number of places available: 25

Grade: Easy. You can choose to relax or challenge yourself on a walk or swim. No activity is mandatory. Just enjoy camping with us for the weekend.

Don't own a tent? Don't worry. We're working with Sponsers to help provide 3-5 tents for the weekend we can hire out and test out. If you're looking to buy a tent, please email us and we can make excellent recomendations. We have tarps and will set up a big under-cover area.

If you need to hire a tent, please notify us in your booking form.

TENT HIRE: $50 for the 2 nights. You will need to bring your own sleeping gear.


Friday afternoon/night 23rd February

5pm-9pm: Arrival at Bendalong. Trip opening meeting and Meet and Greet at 7pm. Set up your tent and have a glass of wine with us around the main hub under the Women Want Adventure Camping tarps. Cook your dinner in the BBQ areas or grab it on the way to Bendalong before you arrive. We will have snacks at 6.30pm and be there to help you set up your tent. Feel free to go for a walk around the area before relaxing into your tent for the night.

Saturday Morning: 24th February

7am-8am: Beach walk. Depending on the wind direction we will walk Main Beach and enjoy a swim at the end before coming back for breakfast. (4km distance). No shoes required! Not up with the birds? Then sleep in.

8am-9am: Relax and eat your breakfast.

10am-12pm: We head off to Lake Conjola for the late morning and float down the crystal waters and have another swim. Head back from Lake Conjola in your car at any time. If you don t wish to come to Lake Conjola (10 minute drive from the campsite) you can stay back at camp, go for a surf, swim, read your book or sunbake on the beaches.

12.30pm-1.30pm: Lunch

(Please bring your own or purchase at the corner store up the road. They have burgers, chips and coffee)

2pm-3pm: Afternoon Snorkelling or feeding the sting rays (optional). You make like this time to relax on the beach for the afteroon.

Depending on the wind and weather conditions, we will be going snorkelling at Flat Rock Beach or Strong Ray Bay. Please have your wetsuit and snorkel/mask ready.

3pm Onwards:

Relaxing time. Read your book back at camp or on the beach. Go for another stroll on the beaches. Options to feed the sting rays.

Dinner 6pm-7.30pm: Nibbles start at 6pm in the main camp hub. We will have a BBQ healthy dinner tonight. After dinner we have card and board games. You can choose to play or go back to camp to have a wine under the camping tarps.

8pm Onwards: Beach fire. Wine. Marshmallows in the hidden cove. Depending on the weather we will head down to the beach with our camping chairs and tales to tell to enjoy a fun night on the beach with a fire. Chocolate and yummy snacks will be provided for desert. Exhausted from the day? Feel free to head back to your tent ay any time to relax.

Sunday 25th February

7am-8am: Morning beach walk and swim. We will choose a different beach or have options for different groups to go for an early morning Bike Ride. Leaders will alternate the activities and some Members may choose to have a group join them on an alterative walk. Options are really endless here! Not up for walking? Take your board down the the beach and go for a surf. We will have another group off on a trail run. The night before we chat around the fire on who wants to surf, run, swim or walk and organise our monring groups.

8am-10am: Breakfast time and relaxing

10am-11.30am: Explorers walk around the North Bendalong Head. Enjoy the rock pools and jump in! You may like during this time to go for another snorkel or walk.

12-1.30pm: Lunch and relaxing

1.30pm: Beach time. We will head to the beach to go for a swim, sunbake, read our books, throw a Frisbee etc. You can ask the front desk to hire a stand up paddle board during this time.

3pm: Trip Close. Group close and thank you meeting back at Main Camp. Late checkout is included in your total trip booking. You can choose to take your car out of the park and still stay around Bendalong for the rest of the day.

Note: Becuase you can drive your car next to your tent, you can bring a blanket and pillows. You don't need to have a sleeping bag.


  • Personal snacks. There is a corner shop 600m up the road if you would like to purchase lunch. It's best to bring healthy snack bars, fruit etc.
  • An esky to keep your food items cool. Ice is available at the corner shop and there is also a frige in the BBQ area (limited space)


How old do I need to be to attend this trip? Women Want Adventure trips are for women over the age of 18 years only.

What if it s raining? Our trips still go ahead in all types of weather. We will enjoy games under the covers, still go for a swim and embrace the elements. We supply tarps to put over your tent.

Is there hot showers? Yes. There are plenty of hot showers. Please bring your own towel.

Do we have to participant in all the activities? No. You don t need to do any of the activities. They are included with your trip and there to encourage you to get active for the weekend.

Can I bring my own kayak or stand up paddle board? Of Course! We do not supply kayaking or stand up paddle board equipment. You will need to bring your own.

How fit do I need to be to attend? No fitness required. You can lay on the beach all weekend if you wish! Although we encourage a healthy and active weekend away.

What if I get sick and need to cancel? We hope you do not need to cancel your booking. If this is the case, you must notify Women Want Adventure in writing as soon as possible, cancelation fee s apply.

  • 60 days or more prior to the trip you will receive a refund minus the 20% administration fee
  • 30-60 days prior to the trip: You will receive a 50% refund
  • 14 days or less: No refund provided

Can we bring pets? No pets.

Do I need to bring a Tarp for over my tent? It is advisable you bring a tarp in case of rain. We will be setting up a large area with tarps where you can put your tent.

What is the best size tent to bring? Depening if our friend is joining you, 2-3 women tent is best. Please notify us if you need to hire one.

Is there a payment plan available so I can reserve a place? Yes. We offer a 50% non refundable deposit to secure your place. Plesae email Monique at womenwantadventure@outlook.com if you would like this option.

Cancellation Policy:

We hope you do not need to cancel your trip, however if cancellation takes place the following will apply:

  • More than 30 days before the trip there is no charge
  • 15-29 days before the scheduled trip there is a 20% administration fee
  • 14 days or less before the scheduled trip the full fee will be charged (100% of the participant cost).

Please be aware that if a participant cancels their trip once it commences or they do not show they also forfeit their full trip cost. Late arrival of a participant or participants on the day may also forfeit the full trip cost. Women Want Adventure may reduce, transfer or waive the loss of fee for any reason at their sole discretion.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, Women Want Adventure reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Women Want Adventure will notify all participants as soon as possible on the day.

A 50% deposit can be made to secure your place for this trip. This is non-refunable if you choose to cancel your trip.

Cancelation due to weather:

Participants will hear from us if we need to cancel the day due to the weather. Participants must assume the day is going ahead if they do not hear from Women Want Adventures otherwise. If participants cancel their trip on the basis of weather (and we have not cancelled it ourselves) no refund will be given. If weather conditions cause us to cancel the trip we will offer alternative dates however if this option is not possible for participants refer to the Women Want Adventure Credit and Refund Policy.

Credit and Refund Policy:

If Women Want Adventure cancels the trip for any reason (such as weather, park closures, illness of the instructor etc.) participants will be given a credit transfer for a future date. Refunds or credit transfers may be given by the discretion of Women Want Adventure. If the course is cancelled after it has commenced, a partial refund may apply.


You will be required to sign a waiver form for this trip. Non-completion of this waiver will result in non-participation on the day.
