Summary

Getting away for a weekend isn’t as simple as it looks.

You want to start off with a re-fresh, but nothing too “hectic”… It’s been a while.

You’ve tried to create more time for yourself, but can barely find time between work, kids and adjusting to a new norm.

Woman, we get you. The Women’s Blue Mountains Weekend is women helping women get outdoors to feel good!

We know what it’s like to have a million things to do, places to go or things to worry over. We’ve got the answers through a Blue Mountains Yoga and Hiking Escape.

Three stunning hikes, nourishing plant-based meals, indoor fire place chat with plenty of laughter and a weekend you deserve.

  • Proof of COVID-19 full vaccination

FAQS

From what to wear to is Chris Hemsworth single, our FAQs are such know-it-alls. Check them out here.

  • Do I need to book with a friend? No friend, no worries! Most women turn up individually.
  • Is there a minimum or maximum age to attend? We think inspiring young women is the bestest, however we only offer trips for over 18 years, just so, well... we all understand what a hot flush is, you know? Grandma's welcome.
  • I’m worried I’m not fit enough and havnt done much hiking before. Did you hear that? That's your inner mean girl telling you you're not good enough. That's why it's taken so long to come on a trip already. We've got you, even if you feel "not your best" right now. That's the whole point! We take the walks slow. We do ask you are comfortable with some steps, just because the Grand Canyon Hike has a few!

Some boring, but important stuff!

Itinerary

Yoga: Vinyassa Yoga (4.15pm-5.15pm)

Hike: Kanimbla View Forest Walk and Welcome, 3km

Meals: Afternoon tea, dinner

Today we arrive at Kanimbla View Retreat between 1.30-2pm. After settling into your room there is a group welcome at 2.30pm with afternoon tea served. After a group welcome, we will take a 40 minute walk around the property on the cliff top walk.

This gently graded walk starts from the retreat, leading to a number of lookouts. This is the perfect walk to watch the sun settle into the valley before returning to wind down for the afternoon with a relaxing yin class. At night, enjoy your first plant based wholesome meal. Kick your feet up around the indoor fire and relax.

Meals: All included

Yoga: Yin Yoga (4-5pm)

Hike: Grand Canyon Circuit (3.5 - 4hr)

Distance: 6.3km loop

Grade: Grade 3

Expansive views, narrow chasms, striking canyon scenery. This hike will surprise you around every corner. Much of the hike is along a steady trail that looks down into the canyon from above. You’ll pass through enclosed rainforest tunnels and natural bridges formed by tree roots. On our hike we will stop for hot tea and coffee (fruit and snacks provided) on the stepping stones by the creek.

After a short 10 minute drive back to our accommodation, we’ll relax for lunch and afternoon chill time. Late afternoon we settle into a vinyasa class to stretch out out legs from the days hike. At night, we’ll provide a hearty dinner with wine on the table.

Meals: Breakfast, hearty morning tea on the trail

Hike: Porters Pass & Centennial Glen (Blackhealth)

Yoga: (Vinyassa flow 6.15am-7.15am)

Distance: 7km

Time: 2-3 hours duration with rest stops

Grade: Grade 3. Some steps and uneven trail

After we kick start the morning with a Vinyassa Flow Class, we eat breakfast then head off to today’s hike that will give you a great sense of the Blue Mountains landscape, with valley views and lookouts. This hike takes you along the precipitous Walls Ledge, down the side of a waterfall to discover a little canyon and waterfall. We then make our way back along the escarpment on the Centennial Pass Trail, stopping for monring tea before returning to our cars for a final farewell.

Grading

Grading: Easy

This trip is graded between easy and moderate.

A mix between a gentle hike and the Grand Canyon Hike which has stairs to reach the canyon floor (it’s amazing!) and we go slow. You can expect to be walking on the first day for 40 minutes, second day between 3.5-4hrs and the last day between 2-3 hours. We stop for breaks and cups of tea.

A basic to good level of health and fitness will make your experience more comfortable. Previous bushwalking experience isn’t necessary, but we do recommend you have a baseline of walking fitness. The yoga classes are tailored for beginners and you can be a first time yogi to a regular to enjoy.

Blue Mountains Testimonial

This was my 18th trip with Monique and Women Want Adventure. I love all of them! Thank you Sophie for the incredible meals (maybe my favourite thing). Lots of laughs at night and dancing. I always feel like I am away with a group of friends on a WWA trip. Now I just need to decide what to do next!
