The Blue Mountains offers superb hiking experiences with stunning scenery, enormous sandstone cliffs and escarpments.

On our women s specially designed itinerary, we begin at Katoomba Falls Reserve for a meet and greet. We head off along the Cliff Top Walk, which provides a great sense of the landscape from above with many historic lookouts along the way.

After a morning tea break, we steadily decent the Giant Stairway - taking in the Three Sisters views as we pass.

Enjoy exploring the base of the towering sandstone cliffs as you reach the bottom of the valley. From here, it s a moderately flat stretch of sheltered rainforest, mixed ferns and black wattles. This is a great chance spot unique wildlife and flora and take in local knowledge from your guide.

It s then onto the thrill of the Scenic World Railway where you ll have a number of impressive photo opportunities as you ride out of the valley. No steps required!

At the top, we combine the stunning views with a delicious lunch before making our way back to the meeting location along the Cliff Top Walk.

This hike is suitable for both women who are beginners and those with hiking experience. There is a variety of terrain and the walking pace is slow.

TESTIMONIAL:

It was a great hike and we had a wonderful guide Bindi. Thanks to Bindi we had our healthy lunch prepared for us and hot cuppa along the trail. The walk down the Giant Stairs was spectacular (on many levels!). We also saw a lyrebird and learned a lot about flora and fauna. Loved the ride on the railway and meeting all the other women.

HOW FIT DO YOU NEED TO BE?

A basic to good level of fitness is required for this hike. We take regular breaks, stop for plenty of photos and look after each other. Bring your walking poles for extra support down the Giant Stairway steps. The steps are well maintained and there are railings to hold onto. If you have sore knees or hips, we recommend bringing hiking poles.
