Community is important to us. Connecting women in a safe and supportive environment where all women feel valued and welcomed is at the core of what we do.

Women Want Adventure is looking for 3-4 female Volunteers to help host a meet up hike on the first Sunday of each month in the Canberra area. We can't reach this goal without you!

Community monthly meet up s give women the chance to get involved with Women Want Adventure for the first time. Walks are easy and no payment is required. Meet Ups break down intimidation barriers so women can take the first step to try something new, make a friend and feel a sense of belonging to community.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

A woman who represents our brand to our community through leading professional, safe and supportive women s community meet ups. You have a love for the outdoors and community and are devoted to making sure the Women Want Adventure ladies have an enjoyable experience. You will be at the centre of a Meet Up, ensuring all women have a great time, feel welcomed and supported.

Volunteers must be able to work with the Women Want Adventure Team so a Meet Up runs smoothly and is safe. This includes carrying a risk assessment, reading the weather report, getting ladies to sign the wavier forms and being aware of the members attending. We will be working with you every step of the way with a planned structure so you are always aware of what is expected as a Volunteer and your trip is easy going and fun!

• Trip date: Sunday 18th August 2019
• Start time: 9am please meet at 8.45am
• Finish time: Between 11.30-12.30 (depending on how long Volunteers want to stay and chat)

• Exact meeting location: Corner of Hoskins and Hall Streets in Hall

DESCRIPTION OF WALK:

This trail takes you from Hall village along part of the Centenary trail up to One Tree Hill summit lookout. At the summit you are near the One Tree trig fire tower. It is one of the few towers used in the ACT to spot bushfires.

There are impressive views looking back towards Canberra along the way and four of Canberra's five city/town centres can be seen on a clear day from the top. A lot of the walk is exposed as it runs through grazing land so wear sun protection!

HOW TO GET TO THE MEETING LOCATION:

From Hall village head north up Victoria street and then turn right onto Hoskins street. The trail head is at the end of the road where it turns to become Hall street.

FAQ S:

Are there bathrooms at the meeting place? No

Can I turn up individually? Of course! Please come and meet other like-minded women in the Canberra area. We are very friendly!

Do I need to be really fit to attend this hike? This walk is suitable for all fitness levels. We walk at a slow pace and stop for rest breaks all the time.

Do I need to register or can I just turn up on the day? You must register for this walk. This walk will enable us to select 3-4 Volunteers to host walks on a regular basis in the Canberra area. As much as we would LOVE to have everyone there, we need to first select a group of fabulous Volunteers to be able to do so. More coming for everyone in the community very soon. Thank you so much for your patience.

If I attend will I become a Volunteer? We will be choosing 3-4 ladies from the group only. We are so grateful to all women who join us. We can't however have too many Volunteers.
