About

Woronora River is situated in Sydney South, in the Sutherland Shire. It features a number of fabulous bush trails and tracks that wind around the river and valley. It s the perfect spot for a morning hike followed by a great cuppa in the park.

Grade: Easy-moderate (a few hills and steps)
Distance: 8 km
Meeting time: 8.00 am
Finish time: 10-10.30 am approx (after coffee)
Meeting location: Woronora Park - Prince Edward Park Road, Woronora. Meet in the car park.

The trail

The trail makes its way up Thorp Road, meeting the main fire trail that follows the water pipeline. After the first 1.5 km, we take a left turn to loop around the fire trails, twisting through bushland on either side before reaching Camp Wanawong. From here, the trail forms a single track, descending slightly toward Thorps Creek before we ascend up the steps toward Woronora River Cemetery a great section of the trail that overlooks Woronora River. We then make our way back down toward the park, completing a bushland loop now ready for a coffee, if you choose, at the Boatshed.
