Women's Coomies Cave Walk Saturday 13th November

There are multiple route options but this hike will explore the full 9km loop taking in the Wreck of SS Merimbula, secluded beaches, remote headlands and lookouts... plus a little sneaky cave surprise!

Hugging the scenic and dramatic cliff line of the Peninsula, you might even spot seals, dolphins, sea eagles and whales along the way.

DETAILS

• Meeting Time: 9:15am - for a 9:30am departure
• Directions: From Currarong village follow Beecroft Parade until you reach the Abrahams Bosom Beach Carpark. Continue to the second car park at the end of the road, near the river next to the beach. There are toilets available a short walk back to the first carpark
• Finish Time: Return to the car park by 12:30pm - 1pm for lunch (provided) // Experience concludes approx. 2pm
• Grade: Easy/ with a little cave crawl

ABOUT

This Women Want Adventure walk takes in the scenic and dramatic cliff line of the Peninsula with the chance of spotting Seals, Dolphins and Sea Eagles (plus Whales in June/July and October/November) and treks through a variety of heathland and lush shaded forest visiting traditional indigenous sites. We will stop for morning tea (provided) at one of the lookout areas and finish back at Abrahams Bosom Beach for lunch (provided) and a swim so bring your toggs!

The walk undulates with short rocky climbs and long flat easy sections over rough ground in sections so good footwear is a must. Hiking Boots / shoes or supportive sneakers and loose comfortable walking clothes will work well.

Do I need to book with a friend ? What If I don't have any! Oh shhh you. We know you're lovely. Come make friends with us. Most women turn up to our trips individually, so we'll find you your friend match made in heaven.

Is there a minimum or maximum age to attend? We think inspiring young women is the 'bestest', however we only offer trips for over 18 years, just so, well... we all understand what a hot flush is, you know? Grandma's welcome.

I m worried I m not fit enough and won't be able to keep up, help! No race here. This trip is a slow one. How can you walk fast if you're on the lookout for whales? It just doesn't happen. It's actually a good trip to start with, ease into your hiking career with this one.
