Melbourne, put your hiking boots on! Women Want Adventure is back for another free community hike to Westerfolds Park, Templestowe.

We will meet at the Candlebark Park Car Park, and head under the bridge and into the park (watch out for the cyclists!). We then follow the river path on the edge of Westerfolds Park, these are narrower dirt paths but allow beautiful views of the Yarra, and feel more secluded than walking through the park itself. We cross a bridge over the Yarra and take a short circuit that tracks a natural loop of the river.

Back across the bridge we head up a short (less the 10 metres) but steep path that takes us back up into Westerfolds Park. From there we begin to follow more formed paths a few gentle hills until we re back into the park itself.

HOW TO GET TO THE MEETING LOCATION:

The Candlebark Park Car Park can be accessed from Kiwanas Lane, off Fitzsimons LaneR coming from either direction it s a left hand turn to the car park (if travelling away from Doncaster, the left hand turn loops you under the road to the car park).

FAQ S:

Are there bathrooms at the meeting place? Yes there are public bathrooms.

Can I turn up individually? Of course! Please come and meet other like-minded women in the VIC area. We are very friendly and create these free community walks for the purpose to connect all the ladies together.

Do I need to be really fit to attend this hike? This walk is suitable for all fitness levels. We walk at a slow pace and stop for rest breaks.

Are there steps involved? Yes, nothing extreme but there are hills to walk.

What will be the pace of the walk? Slow! Always slow with Women Want Adventure.

Can I bring my daughter, she's 15? Sorry. Women Want Adventure is a community group for women over the age of 18 years only.

Do I need to register or can I just turn up on the day? You must register for this walk. We only take 14 women on these hikes and want to know who is coming on the day.
