Women's Garie to Burning Palms Hike Sunday 4th October

On this easy to moderate day hike you will discover the stunning Burning Palms Beach via the Coastal Track from Garie Beach.

DETAILS:

• Meeting location: Garie Beach Car Beach. CLICK HERE to view location. This is the car park at the bottom of the hill near the beach NOT the top car park.
• Date: Sunday 4th October
• Meeting time: 9.00am
• Finish time: Between 1.30-2 pm
• Distance: 10.5km return
• Grade: Easy to moderate
• Walking pace: Slow. We take a lost of rest breaks and there is no rush
• Numbers: Small group of 10 women
• Cost: $110 includes booking fee and GST

HOW FIT DO YOU NEED TO BE?

A basic/good level of fitness is required for this hike. We take regular breaks, stop for plenty of photos and support each other. Expect to be hiking up an elevation of 200m with steady steps and some beach walking. It's really lovely!

WHAT TO BRING:

• Day pack (large enough to carry 2L water, rain jacket, personal belongings)
• Rain jacket
• Hat & sunscreen
• 2 Liters of water
• Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots
• Sunglasses
• Camera
• Sunglasses
• Personal medication
• Cup for coffee/tea (we have spares, due to Covid we think this is more hygienic)
• Hiking poles (optional)
• Warm clothing such as beanies/gloves during the winter months

How old do I need to be to attend this trip? Women Want Adventure Trips are for women only, and over the age of 18 years.

I have a gluten free diet, do you cater for me for morning tea? Yes. We have gluten free options.

What is the average age of women attending? Women between 25-65 years.

Can I bring my own snacks? Yes of course.

What type of toilet facilities will there be? There are bathrooms at Evan s Lookout.

What if I book and then I can't attend? Please read our Terms and Conditions upon booking and notify us in writing as soon as possible, cancellation fees apply.

CANCELLATION:

We hope you do not need to cancel your trip, however if cancellation takes place the following will apply:

• More than 30 days before the trip there is no charge
• 29-15 days before the scheduled trip there is a 20% administration fee
• 14 days or less before the scheduled trip the full fee will be charged (100% of the participant cost).

Please be aware that if a participant cancels their trip once it commences or they do not show they also forfeit their full trip cost. Late arrival of a participant or participants on the day may also forfeit the full trip cost. Women Want Adventure may reduce, transfer or waive the loss of fee for any reason at their sole discretion.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, Women Want Adventure reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Women Want Adventure will notify all participants as soon as possible on the day.

COVID-19:

At Women Want Adventure, your safety is our first concern.

In addition to our trip hygiene protocols, we have additional safety measures before you begin your trip. These include pre screening women to ensure they have not visited any hotspot Covid location with 14 days. When you arrive, we require women to comply with the following: Please reconsider your need to attend the weekend if you have;

returned from overseas within the last 14 days

returned from an identified hotspot anywhere in Australia, especially Victoria

respiratory illness symptoms such as cough, fever, sore throat, shortness of breath

been in close contact within the last 14 days with a confirmed case of COVID-19

When you come on a trip, we need you to practice social distancing and hand hygiene for the protection of others attending - and for your own health, too.

Cancellation due to COVID-19:

If restrictions change before your departure affecting your trip, you will be notified by us via email. Your trip will be postponed to a later date. If you cannot attend the later postpone date, you will receive a full refund, minus the $12 booking fee.
