FAQS

From what to wear to is Chris Hemsworth single, our FAQs are such know-it-alls. Check them out here.

  • Do I need to book with a friend if they are double kayaks? No friend, no worries! We'll hook you up with your match made in heaven! Just turn up individually.
  • Is there a minimum or maximum age to attend? We think inspiring young women is the bestest, however we only offer trips for over 18 years, just so, well... we all understand what a hot flush is, you know? Grandma's welcome.
  • What do I need to wear in the kayak? Nothing! Jokes. A long sleeve shirt is great for sun protection. If you want to swim, wear your swimmers underneath and some shorts or tights. Dorky, old clothing welcome. Do we care if it matches? Nope.
  • I’m worried I’m not fit enough and never been kayaking before. Did you hear that? That's your inner mean girl telling you you're not good enough. That's why it's taken so long to come on a trip already. We've got you, even if you feel "not your best" right now. That's the whole point! Your guide Dane will teach you basic skills and make sure you feel comfortable and safe. All women are in double kayaks which means you can fall asleep and let her do the paddeling.

Itinerary

We will meet and greet the group in Hussikson before heading to our launch location for handy technique and paddle skills briefing.

It's then setting out in double sea kayaks for approximately 1.5 hours, taking in the coastline and the expanses of the Jervis Bay waterway. Your guide will select a relaxing spot in the shade for a rest break and a hot cuppa tea with light refreshments/fruit.

Once we are recharged we will get back in the kayaks and explore the Booderee National Park, learning some of Jervis Bay's historic significance. It is very likely to see whales and dolphins on this trip and we will be taking the best option on the day for spotting the amazing animals. We’ll stop again for lunch, a delicious selection of locally made salad wraps plus additional snacks and fruit. Time again for another kayak to take it all in before heading back to the landing site. This is a superb adventure to attend individually or with a friend.

Many women turn up individually. We will help you partner up on the day and you can swap around with your paddle buddy if you choose.

Grading

Grading: Easy

Kayaking in Jervis Bay is a great location which is often protected by varied wind conditions. Even through this trip is graded easy, if the wind picks up on your kayaking trip you may need to use your extra muscles to paddle the double kayak. Your guide will assist you. Don't say we didn't tell you!

An easy trip is suitable for women who are new to adventure and want to get outside (but start off a little gentler) while the trips are slow and have breaks, it’s still an adventure so a basic to good level of fitness is required. You will still be in the elements and moving your body! For instance, our Jervis Bay Sea Kayaking Trip will see you paddling on the water for up to five hours. However, it will be at a slower pace, in a double kayak… so let your buddy do the paddling!

Fitness and Preparation  We ask that you have a basic to good level of fitness. If you are comfortable completing half-day walks over some uneven terrain, or perhaps take a swim/cycle/yoga class a couple of times a week, you should find this level of trip well within your means.

Jervis Bay Testimonial - Carron NSW

Thank you for a great day on the water. Four of my girlfriends decided to go for a weekend away in Jervis Bay and add in an adventure activity. Adventure it was! Dane was brilliant and we had so many laughs (many at his expense), sorry Dane. Loved exploring Bowen island and the swim at Murray's. Thank you so much, this made our weekend. We were did have tired arms to drink wine afterward. Work it!
