Women's Kayaking Day: Kangaroo Valley 9th February

This is a fabulous trip for women looking for an easy adventure with a little kayaking twist on the running water.

We are meeting in Kangaroo Valley which is a short 2-hour drive from Sydney. Our meeting location is at the Safaris Kayaking Shop to park our cars at 9.30am to begin the paddle at 10am for an easy 2.5 hour paddle (5km) from Hampden Brdige through Morton National Park to Bendeela Picnic Area.

No previous kayaking experience necessary. An instructional and safety briefing will be provided by your leader. There are sections of small rapids.

On this trip you will learn the basic paddling and body positioning techniques to help you tackle the rapids.

INCLUDED:

• All kayaking and safety equipment, including PFD's
• Instructions briefing
• Morning Tea- Including gluten free options, fresh fruit, coffee and tea
• Shuttle return from Bendeela Picnic Area back to the meeting location at the Safaris Kayaking Shop
• First Aid
• All permits

WHAT TO BRING:

• Hat
• Sunscreen
• Sunglasses
• Wet weather jacket. We still kayak in the rain!
• Shoes that can get wet. Sandals or old trainers.
• Water bottle (1L capacity with water in it)
• Swimwear
• Wear a light weight long sleeve shirt to protect yourself from the sun
• Towel
• Gym gloves (optional) although they really help!
• Change of clothes for the end of the trip
• Waterproof camera (optional)

Please Note: Trips depart immediately at the designated Meeting Time at Safaris Kayaking Shop, Kangaroo Valley. Please note it is your responsibility to ensure you are on time and ready for departure. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to departure.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes. You must be over the age of 18 years to attend this trip.

How fit do I need to be?

A basic level of fitness is required. You will be using your upper body and core on the day. The trips is suitable for beginners.

Cancellation Policy:

We hope you do not need to cancel your trip, however if cancellation takes place the following will apply:

• More than 30 days before the trip there is no charge
• 29-15 days before the scheduled trip there is a 20% administration fee
• 14 days or less before the scheduled trip the full fee will be charged (100% of the participant cost).

Please be aware that if a participant cancels their trip once it commences or they do not show they also forfeit their full trip cost. Late arrival of a participant or participants on the day may also forfeit the full trip cost. Women Want Adventure may reduce, transfer or waive the loss of fee for any reason at their sole discretion.

In the event of adverse weather conditions, Women Want Adventure reserves the right to change, alter or cancel this trip in the interests of client safety. Women Want Adventure will notify all participants as soon as possible on the day.

Cancelation due to weather:

Participants will hear from us if we need to cancel the day due to the weather. Participants must assume the day is going ahead if they do not hear from Women Want Adventures otherwise. If participants cancel their trip on the basis of weather (and we have not cancelled it ourselves) no refund will be given. If weather conditions cause us to cancel the trip we will offer alternative dates however if this option is not possible for participants refer to the Women Want Adventure Credit and Refund Policy.
