The best way to experience the beautiful coastlines of Kiama and Gerringong is by foot. Discover the stunning beaches, rivers and bays on a mix of sealed, unsealed and grass tracks suitable for all fitness levels. With its spectacular ocean views, inviting detours and proximity to amenities and public transport, the Kiama Coast Walk is the perfect way to explore and enjoy the South Coast region.
DETAILS:
Starting time: Meeting at 8.00am for a 8.15am departure at The Kiama Blowhole (lookout next to the lighthouse). There is parking up the top and it s safe to leave your car.
Days: Half day
Level: Easy to moderate walking. For women who walk regularly. It is a very easy track but long. Please be prepared for walking hills.

Time: 4 hours walking + time for morning tea
ABOUT:
Meeting at the Blowhole Point Lookout in Kiama (near the lighthouse), we will walk 5km South towards Loves Bay (1.5 hours). This stretch is open to sealed and unsealed paths as we wind our way through the end of town, the scenic bays and beaches. Passing the Little Blowhole here with spectacular ocean views, we continue from Loves Bay for another 6km South towards Werri Beach (Gerringong), roughly (2 hours hiking). This section is quite different from the first as we enter onto the grassy hillside of the coast. We will stop along the way to explore the rocky shorelines and rest to enjoy a yummy snack, tea and coffee. Please bring a mug with you!
Once we reach Werri Beach, we have the option to go for a swim and relax after the mornings walk. A shuttle will pick the group up from North Werri and return everyone to their cars in Kiama. (around 2pm return to Kiama).
Our groups love going for post hike coffee and lunch at the local cafes. This is optional but highly recommended once we return to Kiama.

DIRECTIONS:
Kiama Blowhole Point is a 2.5 hour drive from Sydney. From Wollongong, head to Kiama and drive out towards the headland. There are signs to the lookout of the blowhole and it's easy to find. We will be parking in the car park here and starting directly from the lookout near the lighthouse. If you get lost, call Sue on 0402 611 261. Please arrive 15 minutes before departure.
WHAT TO BRING:
Walking shoes/boots. Sandshoes are suitable for this walk.
Wet weather gear including a rain jacket that is waterproof
Sunglasses
Hat (very important as this area is very exposed)
Water bottle (2-3L)
Day pack
Sunscreen
Light fleece t-shirt
Swimmers if you choose to swim
A towel
There are bathrooms at Kiama and further along the trail. We stop often to have a break and make sure all women feel comfortable on the hike.

What if it s raining? Women Want Adventure trips still go ahead in all types of weather, unless electric storms. Monique will be in contact with you in case of a change in plans. Please bring your wet weather gear as we hike in raining weather.
How old do I need to be to attend?
Women Want Adventure trips are for women over the age of 18 years.
What are the ages of women attending a trip like this?
Members in our community range from mid 20's to late 60's.
How fit do I need to be to attend?
This walk is perfect for beginners and women wanting to chat and get to know other like-minded women. If you walk 1-3 times in the week it is a suitable walk for you.

We hope you do not need to cancel your trip, however if cancellation takes place the following will apply:
