Join us for a 4 day women s adventure to reach the highest point in Australia and explore the Snowy Mountains Region with day hikes.

The Snowy Mountains and surrounds are known for their snow-capped mountains, but that s only part of the story.

The diverse landscape offers the perfect mixture of hiking trails during the warmer months.

During three selected walks, this trip explores the stunning snowy landscapes, including a summit to the highest peak in Australia - Mount Kosciusko.

At night, kick up your feet and enjoy a little bit of luxury at the Lake Crackenback Resort with restaurant dinners and group BBQ s.

  • Date: Monday 22nd March - Thursday 25th March 2020
  • Meeting time: Check in is at 3pm. Please arrive before 4pm for the first group walk at 4pm
  • Finish time: 10am Thursday 25th March 2020

  • Grade: Moderate/ hard in some sections
  • Hiking pace: Slow
  • Ages: Women over 18 years
  • Price: $1600 inc GST

SUMMARY:

Day 1 - Bullocks Walk & Arrival At Chalet Accommodation l 6km I Grade Easy

  • Arrival at 3pm
  • Enjoy a short easy walk to stretch your legs 4-5pm
  • Group nibbles, information & briefing session
  • Restaurant dinner

Day 2 - Thredbo to Mt Kosciuszko | 17km return l Grade Moderate/challenging

  • Journey up to Mount Kosciusko and enjoy the view from the top of Australia
  • Enjoy lunch and trail snacks along the way
  • Relax and celebrate the days achievements over a restaurant dinner

*Option to take the Express Chairlift to meet the group at the halfway point.

Day 3 - Blue Lake Hike | 14.3km I Grade Moderate/hard

  • Explore the Main range Track to Blue Lake for morning tea
  • Summit Carruthers Peak for lunch
  • Return to Lake Crackenback for Aussie BBQ celebration dinner and drinks

Day 4 - Relax and enjoy Lake Crackenback Resort

  • Relax for the morning with a hearty group breakfast
  • Farewell & departure 10am

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST:

WHAT TO BRING:

  • Day pack large enough to carry personal belongings
  • Hat/beanie/sunglasses
  • Waterproof rain jacket
  • 3-4 pairs of hiking socks
  • 1 thermal layer (top and bottom)
  • Casual clothing to wear at the resort
  • Sturdy walking boots or shoes/trail runners
  • Walking clothes, we recommend lightweight shorts, layers and long sleeve for protection from the elements
  • Medication, camera etc

A comprehensive gear list is provided to women prior to the trip.

FAQ'S:

When will tickets go on sale for this trip? Wednesday 23rd September 2020, 10.00am AEST

Do I need to book with a friend? No, most women turn up individually to our trips and do not know others prior. If you do have a friend to bring yay!

How old are the women attending? Every group ranges between women in their 30 s to late 60 s.

How fit do I need to be for the hikes? A moderate level of fitness is required to summit Mount Kosciuszko. The trails are varied including single paths, river crossings and some steep sections. There are uphill and steep sections so we suggest bringing your hiking poles. Our groups walk at a slow pace. We suggest you prepare for this trip be walking at home for distances between 8-13km.

Can I wear normal joggers? Yes, however we do advise wearing shoes that have a strong soul support. Hiking boots and trail runners are the preference.

Can I arrive earlier on the Friday? Of course you can! The check in times for your room will not be until 3pm. You may need to wait at Jindabyne until the rooms are ready.

Is there an option for single room supplement? Sorry! We have booked this trip specifically with the chalets and on numbers.

Is there enough room in the chalets for social distancing? Yes. We measured out the whole chalet and eating space. There are also two bathrooms in each chalet.

Do you cater for dietary requirements such as gluten free, vegetarian etc? Yes! We will have a range of breakfast options and lunches for you. We love our food and healthy food too.

What if I book and I can t get to the trip due to Covid? The deposit is strictly non-refundable. If the trip is still going forward and you cannot attend due to a border closure or you are sick, the deposit will not be returned to you. We must cover our expenses to operate.

What if I book this trip and it can t go ahead due to Covid? If WWA cancels the trip due to Covid you will receive a full deposit credit for a postponed date.
