On day one we explore delicate heathland environments and enjoy stunning high cliff top views as the track stays close to the coast and we are instantly immersed in natures beauty.
Our time is spent meandering past several small inlets as we make our way to camp finally crossing Wallagoot Lake Entrance with our shoes off for the last stretch along the beach.
After settling into camp with a hot shower or an ocean dip we will set the fire and watch the sunset over the lake as we enjoy a delicious meal prepared by your guide.
Awake to a spectacular beach sunrise with the smell of coffee and a yummy breakfast before packing up and heading back out on the trail.
Our route takes us past inland lagoons and back onto the beach before climbing to the Bournda Island Lookout. If we are lucky the dolphins will be there to greet us. Heading down the coast there are several spectacular viewing platforms where we can take regular breaks. We will slowly make our way back to civilization passing Short Point then over the hill to our final destination at Merimbula Wharf to celebrate with views toward Twofold Bay.
A moderate level of fitness is required for this hike. We take regular breaks, stop for plenty of photos and support each other. Expect to be hiking between 6-7 hours each day. Bring your walking poles for extra support up and down steps, across loose terrain, around rocky cliffs and inlet crossings. This trip is graded moderate. Some previous bushwalking experience is required, but it’s not essential if you have never been overnight hiking before.
Yes! This trip is suitable for women who are happy to carry their overnight items on their backs and be on their feet for the most part of the day.
Not at all. We want to make sure women who book don’t get a surprise of what it’s like to walk up and down steps, along soft sand, on loose terrain and crossing inlets. This trip is still suitable for first timers, come along!
Yes of course! Please make sure your hiking pack is suitable to carry in your overnight pack. We suggest 55-65L packs. We have packs available for hire. Please outline when making your booking.
