Jingle Boots: Women's Christmas Adventure Festival Saturday 9th December

Christmas is here (soon anyway), and our community is ready to celebrate, and not just any old way, but in the best way we know how Adventure Style!

As traditional, we'll be meeting for the morning adventure festival at Prince Edward Park in Woronora for an action-packed morning of adventure activities from hiking and kayaking to canoeing and more.

This gathering offers us all a chance to reconnect and reminisce about the memories made over campfires, mountains, and rivers, and, of course, share some hearty food.

Our morning will be filled with a delightful morning tea and treats.

As an annual tradition, we encourage you to embrace the Christmas spirit with a festive attire. Santa's helpers, Christmas trees - we've seen them all hiking or kayaking down the Woronora River! Remember Sarah from 2019 who turned up as a Christmas tree? There's a prize for the best-dressed, so let your Christmas spirit shine!

Have you never been on a Women Want Adventure trip before? Don't worry! This event is a perfect way to dip your toes into our community, be part of an adventurous activity, and feel welcomed. So please, come along!

• When: Saturday, 9th December
• Meeting location: Prince Edward Park Road, Woronora 2232 NSW (click here for the link)
• Meeting time: 8.15am
• Event time: 8.15-11.30 am
• Meeting point: We'll be setting up under the trees by the water. It's a small park, so you'll easily spot our festive group from the car park with the tables and Gazebos

Activity options

1. Hiking - Enjoy an easy 6km loop in the Woronora Nature Reserve, guided along fire trails by our team.
2. Kayaking/Canoeing - BYO kayak/SUP/canoe, or select one of our hire options. We have hired canoe s from the Boat Shed to make things easier for everyone.

Post-activity, we'll regroup in the park for a lovely morning tea and exciting event games. Plus, Santa will be visiting and we'll be giving away a number of prizes.

What to bring

• Comfortable hiking gear
• A festive outfit
• Swimmers and a towel (if you fancy a dip)
• H iking poles if you like to walk with them
• W ater - 1L is suitable
• A camera for capturing memories
• Donations for Jacaranda Cottage
• A mug for that perfect cuppa we have provided
• Camp chair
• Y our kayak/SUP/canoe if you have your own + PFD/paddle

Dog-friendly? Absolutely! Bring your furry friends along, but remember, they need to get into the festive spirit too! (extra points for Christmas-dressed pups).

• Adventurer's General Access Pass (hiking option): $25
• BYO Kayak/SUP/Canoe: $25
• Single Kayak Hire Option: $65
• Double Canoe Hire Option: $75

We'll be securing the kayaks/canoes for our group from Woronora Boat Shed. Due to limited availability, these may sell out quickly. So, it's a case of first come, first served - apologies in advance if they run out! Join the hike instead!

$5 from each booking will go towards the Jacaranda Cottage. This wonderful organisation provides a refuge for young women aged between 16 and 24 who have become homeless or are at risk of becoming homeless. Please bring along any items that we can add to our Christmas hampers, which we will be delivering to the Jacaranda Cottage.
