Women's Castle Head Hike Community Meet Up

Travel & Outdoor

Details

Castle Head is a short, yet easy walk with incredible views over Ruined Castle and Mt Solitary in the Blue Mountains.

If you're looking to get into hiking and meet like-minded women who enjoy the outdoors, this is a fabulous meet-up to join. It's not a well-known trail (even though it is close to Katoomba), which means we will likely have the trail to ourselves.

We will meet at the Locked Gates at the end of Narrow Neck Road where our walk will begin. Heading over the gate, we walk on a fire trail for the first section, which is well maintained. From the Castle Head Sign, the trail turns left into a single bush track and starts going gently uphill before a short steep section to get to the first amazing view point.

As the group walks towards Castle Head Lookout, views of the Ruined Castle where we run our Women s Overnight Hike will start to appear! View this amazing trip here. You will also have views down to the Cox River on the right and the Three Sisters on your left. It s truly breathtaking and a great place to stop and have some morning tea (bring something for yourself or to share if you like!), it s always really nice to sit and relax here for a while.

At the end of the walk, you may like to go back into Katoomba and get a coffee together.
