On this paddle, led by Cathy Miller, you will experience it all. The tree-clad banks, impressive sandstone rock formations, the amazing serenity as the river twists and turns + women who want to paddle, laugh and have a great time!
We will explore the river from the weir at Fuller s Bridge all the way down to the Harbour. We have special permission to go ashore at St. Ignatius Riverview College to walk through their beautiful rose garden and admire their fully restored 1880 s main building. Quite breathtaking. Lunch and a lovely swimming opportunity at a boutique sandy beach while we admire the sweeping view to the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
From our gathering point at Wirong Flat on River Avenue Lane Cove, we'll start with a technique and safety briefing to make sure you feel comfortable in the kayaks. We then head upstream to the weir - then downstream to Sugarloaf Reserve for a morning tea break. The river twists and turns as it passes through the Lane Cove River National Park. Very pretty. Our lunch spot will be at a boutique beach on the harbour (you ll have a great view of the bridge), where you ll be able to swim if you wish.
