Women's Free Hike - VIC Mount Towrong Short Loop

This trail promises a nice steep climb to warm you up, and you'll be rewarded with a magnificent lookout halfway up as you ascend the steps.

Starting from our meeting location at Mount Macedon Road, we'll walk up the road to the trailhead (approximately 10 mins) on Anzac Road. The path then ascends Mount Towrong Walking Track, leading to the lookout. From here, you'll enjoy a great view of Mount Macedon just across the valley. We'll continue up another 500 meters or so until the path flattens out and turns onto Hemphills Track. Please note that snow could be present, so we'll assess the conditions before the walk.

The route takes us through interesting woodlands with a variety of fascinating flora lining the path, including mushrooms and other fungi. The first third of the trail is a bush track followed by a forestry road. Good shoes are recommended, especially in winter when the clay path can become very slippery and wet.

This intriguing trail offers diverse terrain, making it a perfect hike to meet like-minded women who love getting outdoors. While it can be steep in sections, it's graded as moderate.
