Women's 'Free' Lady Carrington Drive Hike Friday 11th August

This free hiking event is designed to connect like-minded women in our community, providing an opportunity to make new friends and catch up with old ones.

As part of our commitment to fostering connections, we invite you to join us for an easy hike along the stunning Lady Carrington Drive. This scenic trail spans over 20km, following a historic carriage route from Audley to Sir Bertram Stevens Drive. With breathtaking views of the Hacking River and surrounding bushland, this hike is suitable for all fitness levels.

We will walk for approximately 2 hours, covering a distance of around 10-12km. Afterward, we'll gather at Audley Cafe for a coffee and a picnic in the park. While we'll provide some nibbles, we kindly request that you bring a small plate to share, if possible.

Details

• Date: Friday morning on August 11th
• Meeting time: 8:00am to start hiking at 8.15am
• Finish time: Between 10:45am-11:00am if you choose to stay for a cuppa in the park
• Meeting location: Fig Tree Picnic Area, Start of Lady Carrington Drive
• Directions: Enter "Audley Dance Hall" into your GPS, turn right, and continue for approximately 600m until you reach the car park at Fig Tree Picnic Area. Please note that there is no reception, so we recommend looking up directions beforehand.
• Trail grading: Easy on an open fire trail

Things to bring

• To ensure your comfort and safety, we recommend bringing the following items:
• Small day pack for your water
• 1.5L of water
• Comfortable walking shoes, joggers, or boots
• Sunscreen and sunglasses
• Hat
• Personal items such as medications, asthma puffer, etc.
• Camera/phone
• Warm jacket/wet weather jacket (check weather forecasts)
• A bite to eat or the option to grab something at Audley Cafe after the walk

We understand that joining a group activity alone can be daunting. Rest assured, it's perfectly normal to feel nervous, and we embrace our dorky side while enjoying the outdoors and friendly conversations on the trail.
