Join Women Want Adventure in New Zealand! We are hosting a FREE Women s Hiking Meet Up to explore the Waitakere Ranges on the Omanawanui Track.

Omanawanui Track is one of Auckland s hidden jewels in the treasure trove of tracks in the Waitakere Ranges Regional Park. Despite a few steep sections, the track rewards walkers with its sparkling water views out over the Manukau Bar and its mixed canopy forest.

We are meeting at the Whatipu car park at 8.30am to leave at 9am sharp. This is the perfect day out to meet likeminded adventure friends, kick-start an awesome year of adventure and feel inspired by the outdoors.

How to get to Whatipu Beach Car Park

Take the North-Western motorway to the Great North Road Exit. Follow Great North Road onto Ash Street which leads onto Rata Street. Take Titirangi Road right through Titirangi Village to the roundabout. Take Huia Road through to Huia. Continue on to Whatipu Road for access to Whatipu. Please be careful on the bends. We are not meeting at the very end, but at the Whatipu Beach Car park as there is additional room to park our cars.

We will be car pooling from the Beach Car park to the start of the track. Please be on time at 8.30am so we can complete this process.

Meeting Time: 8.30am for a 9am depature (sharp)

Duration: 3 hours (total)

Distance: 3km return

Grade: Easy, with a few steep sections

What to bring

- 2L of water

- Day Pack

- Snacks

- Hat + Sunscreen

- Sunglasses

- Walking shoes or hiking boots. Both are suitable for this hike

- Camera

- Rainjacket (just incase)

Are there a minimum age requirement to enter the event?

Yes. You must be over the age of 18 to attend this event.

I have a male friend/partner I wish to bring. Can he tag a long?

We don't descriminate here at Women Want Adventure and encourage both females and males to get outside and explore. Feel welcome to bring your partner, however we encourage this meet up to be a women's event.

What if it's raining?

Women Want Adventure trips go ahead in all types of weather, unless electrical storms. We will make a social media post and call you if the trip is cancelled. We hike in the rain so come prepared!
