Join us for a 4 day women’s adventure to reach the highest point in Australia and explore the Snowy Mountains region.
The Snowy Mountains and surrounds are known for their snow-capped mountains, but that’s only part of the story.
The diverse landscape offers the perfect mixture of hiking trails during the warmer months.
During three selected walks, this trip explores stunning alpine landscapes, including a summit to the highest peak in Australia - Mount Kosciuszko.
At night, kick up your feet and enjoy a the Lake Crackenback Resort with one resturant Alpine dinner and two group dinners in the chalets prepared by your guides.
* Women must be prepared for a variety of weather conditions, including snow, high winds, rain and sections of ice on the ground. Before booking, check you have appropriate clothing for a range of weather conditions.
The Itinerary may alter due to varied weather conditions. If one day is looking more suitable for a summit hike, we will alter the itinerary to reach the summit on the most appropriate weather window. High winds, rain and snow may change our plans where needed and we will always update the group after checking in with National Parks.

After a delicious chalet breakfast prepared by your guide, we make our way via car convoy to Charlottes Pass for the start of the days hike. This is a one hour drive, so make sure you have petrol in your car.
There are bathrooms located at Charlottes Pass.
Today we head along the wide gravel track and explore part of the Main Range Trail. The track crosses over creeks and rivers, with fun rock-hops, before exploring the path between granite boulders as we climb the peaks. It's a steep 410m to Carruthers Peak with inclines and declines along the way.
After 1.5 hours of hiking, we pass via the stunning Blue Lake and rest for morning tea. Blue Lake is a glacial lake in the alpine area. At 28m deep, this lake was formed when glaciers, flowing from the Great Dividing Range, converged and carved out a basin in the rock.
Once we reach Carruthers Peak, we'll stop for lunch and take time for the alpine views. Carruthers Peak is a prominent mountain that is found along the Main Range track, from which you can see great views down over Club Lake and out across the valley to Charlotte Pass.
After our bellies are full, we return via the same trail back to our cars at Charlottes Pass.
Today the group will wake up to breakfast prepared by our guides before driving the Thredbo Village for the chairlift ride on the Kosi Express.
It’s an early start to get first lifts at 9am on the chairlift to the top of Thredbo ski fields. From here, we walk to the peak of Australia for the highest and most delicious morning tea, before returning via Deadhorse Gap Trail with spectacular views across the snowy mountains range. Enjoy the surrounding views, creeks and outlooks on this stunning walk.
Today is a long and hard walk (23km). Women must be prepared for the 23km day. Our guides will ensure you have enough water and food before setting out. If you do not wish to walk the Dead Horse Gap section, you can take the chairlist back down the Thredbo Village and either drive back to the resort or wait for the group to return.
Once we reach the bottom of Dead Horse Gap, we return via the flat trail which follows a beautiful shaded area all the way back to our starting point.
On return to Lake CrackenBack Resort, kick up your feet and enjoy a dinner prepared by your guides in the evening in one of the chalets with well deserved drinks included.
Today is our last morning together, and what better way to celebrate the trip than with a group breakfast. Your guides will serve up a hearty breakfast and farewell the group.
If your legs are feeling up for it, we recommend a short stoll by the lake before breakfast.
Check out is at 10am.
This trip is graded 3-4 (hard & challenging) which is under the NSW National Parks grading system. The hikes are suitable for women who have good mobility and a base level of walking and hiking fitness. We strongly advise women are comfortable walking up steep hills and longer distances (up to 23km on the longest day). Tracks have steep mountain sections a rough surface and many steps.
Please bring your hiking poles with you are additional support (we also hire!). Walking may be over 7 hours on some days.
Travel is by individual means only. We do not arrange group transfers. If requested by email, we can assist in connecting you with other women to arrange car-pooling options. However, due to Covid-19, we have not encouraged group sharing.
There is a single supplement option on offer (2 only) for an additional $530pp.
This trip is graded challenging as walking in the Snowy Mountains has many inclines and declines. We also cover a lot of distance! You need to have a good level of fitness and willing to hike for full days. Make sure you have been walking at home and feel confident on your feet.
We cater for dietary requirements such as gluten intolerant, lactose free, vegetarian and medical and allergy requirements. However, we require notice of a minimum of two weeks before departure to ensure we can meet your needs. Please make sure you indicate requirements when booking.
Our guides pre-plan and prepare food for groups in wilderness contexts, so we kindly ask you do not provide food preferences. For example, you would prefer to eat gluten free, and then be able to eat gluten if required.
* If you would like to bring your own personal snacks or meals, you are most welcome. Please let us know prior to your departure.
